Liquor Barons

Intersect Marketing provided marketing services to Liquor Barons Co Operative and even worked in house for a period throughout 2021. Intersect collaborated with their internal team including Liquor Barons General Manager, Merchandise & Promotions Manager, Business Development Manager and Graphic Designer whilst also liaising with the individual store owners and employees on a regular basis. We also worked with external brands to maintain strong partnerships and managed a variety of external suppliers.

Client objectives

Liquor Barons engaged Intersect to maintain their brand image, preserve their marketing strategy and continue with the current content structure amid the COVID 19 pandemic while they were in the process of recruiting a marketing team. The main objective was to keep all marketing activity going during this period as smoothly as possible. We were able to step into the role, sustain stability whilst also adding much more value during our time working together.

How we helped

During our time working with Liquor Barons, we were able to assist with a variety of tasks from day-to-day duties through to organising and implementing their major integrated campaign and sell out industry wine event. Our range of services included:

  • Forward planning and management of main social media platforms and social media content, weekly eDMs and monthly photoshoots including organisation of products required
  • Copywriting for social posts, print advertising and website content
  • Management and implementation of their brand-new website and completing regular website updates
  • Manage website contact form conversations and interactions and resolve accordingly
  • Management and regular updates complete on the Liquor Barons App
  • Partnerships with external brands to create several joist social media campaigns, including the organisation of capturing content and management of implementation and post campaign reporting
  • Major campaign planning and implementation – management of social media competition, liaising with winners, organise and run a 2-day photoshoot, liaise with media buyers to select correct advertising space to display the campaign, liaising with creative director throughout the campaign, manage post campaign content roll out across socials and print advertising and manage post campaign reporting
  • Management and implementation of sell out major industry event – investigate and book event space, collect RSVPs and dietary requirements and liaise with attendees, liaise with staff at event location, with brands bringing their product to display at the event, with lighting, decorative and AV supplier, with DJ and with the event MC. Organise printing, manage seating chart, attend sound and AV testing, and run event on the day. All while managing fluctuating COVID protocols
  • Attend industry functions and assist with those that Liquor Barons hosted
  • Forward planning of yearly Ray Jordan Top 100 wines content on website and social media planning and advertising surrounding this
  • Liaison with external print supplier and implementation of full car wrap project
  • Overall project management of all associated external parties including regular meetings

The Result

We were able to achieve Liquor Barons initial objectives during their transitional period plus go above and beyond as we provided experience and guidance where necessary, were flexible with what needed to be done to assist and were always more than happy to jump right in and support across a wide range of marketing endeavors. All of this, even during the COVID pandemic helped result in year-on-year sales growth for all stores.
